Creating a Peaceful, Compassionate Presence

Instructor - Jim Hussey

October 18-19, 2005
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

This two day workshop is designed to give participants practical, understandable tools to center in on their inner presence and create a safe environment to give empathy. In addition to teaching a model of compassionate communication, based on the work "Non-Violent Communication" by Dr. Marshall B. Rosenberg, Jim will offer experiential exercises to expand your capacity to be present for another.

Learn:

To hear beyond the thoughts and judgments of others,
to hear their feelings
How to practice presence,
to be completely present for another
To ask for what you want
to talk so you are really heard
To eliminate Judgment & Blame
To get your needs met
How to say "No" gracefully

Intentions for participants:

To be able to be completely present for someone, giving empathy
To understand what compassionate communication means
To be able to express our feelings and needs in non-threatening ways
To connect us to what is alive in ourselves and in others.
To say "No" without hurting another and without feeling guilty
