Jason Maffia holds a Masters Degree in Psychology as well as the designation of Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress, Diplomat, American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. Mr. Maffia is also Board Certified in Emergency Crisis Response, Certified in Acute Traumatic Stress Management and Certified in Health Counseling. Jason is currently a volunteer member, mental health professional and team coordinator with the Regional EMS Council of New York City Critical Incident Response Team, as well as a mental health professional and team leader with the Nassau County Critical Incident Stress Management Team. Jason also serves as the Mental Health Professional with both the City Crisis Team of New York and St.Vincients Catholic Medical Center Critical Incident Stress Management Team. As a member of these teams, Jason has provided Individual crisis intervention, debriefing, defusing, demobilization sessions, and crisis management briefing for fire services, EMS and pre hospital care providers affected by tragedy or disaster.
