SUSAN McGROARTY, PhD

Assistant Professor at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia Susan McGroarty coordinates the trauma specialization for masters’ counseling students and supervises doctoral dissertations on trauma. Her research interests include forgiveness in complex trauma, educating parents to help traumatized children and group dynamics in trauma work.

Clinical work includes a small private practice specializing in adolescent females with PTSD. Volunteer practice includes work with the Red Cross as well as deployment to Rwanda.

Interning under Dr. George Everly inspired her interest in trauma work. Her Doctoral study was completed at the University of Pennsylvania.
